AI Act: high-risk obligations (deferred)

The Digital Omnibus, Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, deferred the high-risk regime. Annex III standalone systems move to 2 December 2027; Annex I systems embedded in regulated products move to 2 August 2028.

TIMING

In force since 27 July 2026. Neither new date depends on a further Commission decision.

AT THE POINT OF SEND

The deferral buys build time, not amnesty. Evidence obligations are easier to meet from a running log than from a standing start in 2027.
